The first thing you'll have to do is consult the owner's manual that you received when you purchased your vehicle. It will list out how much oil is needed to replace what has been drained. You will also need the following tools:

• Gloves
• A wrench
• New oil filter
• Pail
• Dipstick

Once you've got all this ready, you can begin.

Changing the Engine Oil in Your Lexus Vehicle

1. Hoist your car up so that you have enough space to work safely beneath it.
2. Remove the plastic undertray located at the bottom of your car to assess the oil pan.
3. Drain all of the oil into your engine into the pail.
4. Remove the drain plug and let the oil flow for about five minutes, or until it has reduced to a trickle.
5. Remove the current air filter and replace it with the new one. Ensure to wipe down all the parts afterwards so they are oil free.
6. Put the drain plug back into its original position. You want it tight enough to avoid leaks, but you don't want it to be screwed in too tight.
7. Use some oil from your new filter to coat your finger lightly. You will use this as a seal for the gasket located at the top of your filter.
8. Your oil filter has now been replaced - simply replace the undertray into its original position and lower your car.
9. Open the car of your hood and fill your engine with the necessary amount of oil.
10. Let the oil settle for a few minutes.
11. Then, check to see if it has been refilled to your desired level using a dipstick.
12. You have completed the oil change! Make sure that there are no oil leaks around your car.
